When doing these activities with Rylan today I just felt like a better mom like I was teaching him new things and he was so proud of the new things he learned how to do and what not. It really made me feel good! Tomorrow I am not sure what we will do yet need to take a peek at Pinterest for some ideas.
Anyways If you guys do not already follow this amazing girl who has the cutest daughter in the world you should, she takes amazing pictures and seriously has the best posts ever. check her out http://my-infinite-love.blogspot.com/ believe me you will regret not following her!!! we text on a daily base since we both live in two different states! wish we lived closer :(
1 cup of flour
1 cup of warm water
2 teaspoons of cream of tarter
1 teaspoon of oil
1/4 cup of salt
Food coloring
{today we used Pumpkin Spice since its fall and all I decided to spice the play dough up a little and make it smell amazing)
Then all you do is combine all the ingredients into a sauce pan and cook on medium if you want to use food coloring wait until the very end when the play dough is fully done to add the coloring. I went ahead and added the pumpkin spice to the mixture. keep stirring the mixture until it balls up and is smooth. This should only take maximum of 5 mins. - I let Rylan add all the ingredients to the non hot sauce pan and then when it was time to turn the stove on medium heat to mix the mixture together I didn't let me obviously be around it.
Take it off the heat let it cool off before giving it to your little one to play with, This is also when you'd add the food coloring once its all done just add a couple of drops of food coloring and work the food coloring into the play dough and voila! you just made home made play dough!
What I like most about this recipe is yeah it still has that gross salty taste to it (because yes my son was licking the play dough, so I insisted on taking a lick for myself to see how bad it was) but its eatable so if your children are like mine and like to lick things then this is perfect for them! it also smells amazing too with the pumpkin spice added to it!!!
After about 45mins of playing with the play dough I ended up storing it into a tupperware bowl and it was still soft after a few hours, we will see what it is like tomorrow morning!
when in doubt bring out the playdough!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Ry loved it! I can't wait to share more activity ideas!
